Today is my lil bro's 18th birthday! I baked him a chocolate cake, its the flavor he likes... actually this is the moistiest and softest chocolate cake I have ever made. It has pastry cream filling and chocolate ganache frosting.
Happy Birthday Nigel Mon!

Butterscotch
Butterscotch is one dessert I love to eat after meals. Its bite sized and really comforting to eat. I like it not too sweet, soft and not too chewy, just the way how I made it. Butterscotch and Milk is two thumbs up!

The Real Farm Life
Located 15 kilometers from Iloilo City and just 1 kilometer away from Zarraga town proper... is a small farm...we cultivate rice as a primary product then an enclosed farm for tree plants like mangoes, banana (tundal, sabah), jackfruit (langka), chico tree, avocado tree; and a vegetable farm of tomato, sili, ampalaya, sitaw, eggplant, squash etc and soon a tilapia pond... we practice organic farming using vermiworm fertilizer, decaying wood, etc... This is real farming, no frills, no fancy techniques just old school farming.

Cream Puff
Making the Pastry Shell of the Cream puff is so fun to make... First you have to boil together butter and water then add the flour then add the eggs! then pop it to the oven.... then there goes your cream puff pastry shells... Soon will be making different flavors of cream puff!
Apple Pie
I baked an apple yesterday but my family ate it before I took a chance to take some pics for my blog... this is what left.
I used Red Delicious Apple variety... It was nice but next time Ill slice the apples in thinner strips so that I can slice the pie easily and Ill never soak it in cold water for a long time and go somewhere else coz the filling tends to get watery.

Custard Chiffon Cake
One recipe down from my Baking Bucket List. Custard Chiffon Cake. Its easy to make... its just the process that its a little bit long and you need a lot of precision on mixing the custard to the whipping of the egg whites to the folding of the batter. But the end cake is worth the patience.
One tip be careful when loosening the cake from the pan... the custard top is so fragile that you might accidentally cut the sides of the custard with your knife or palette... loosen the sides slowly and gently.
Rich and Fluffy cake!
